Purchasing Notes:

1. 988 exclusive ultra-large loader specs, non-interchangeable with 980/983 series
Cat 988 cutting edges and end bits adopt extra-thick plate, heavy-duty hole spacing and large-load mounting radian, different from Cat 980 and 983 models. Wrong assembly leads to insufficient rigidity, severe vibration, broken bolts and premature fracture.
2. full through-hardened boron steel required for quarry & mine rock conditions
Ordinary carbon steel only suits light soil working conditions. All hard rock quarry, boulder and high-density aggregate scenarios must adopt full through-hardened boron steel to avoid rapid wear and bending failure. 
3. Double-bevel reversible design preferred for 24h continuous high-tonnage mining fleets
For large quarries and mine feeding fleets running non-stop high-tonnage loading, reversible double-bevel cutting edges maximize service life and cut overall maintenance cost.
4. Main cutting edge and end bits must adopt matched material grade
Bucket corners of Cat 988 bear huge lateral impact load during rock loading. End bits must use the same heavy-duty material as main cutting edge. Mismatched hardness causes uneven wear and early corner failure.
