Our aftermarket Caterpillar Split link bolts/Master link bolts are high-strength fastener specially designed for Caterpillar excavator and dozer track split master links. They are always paired with matching nuts, through clamping the two side plates of the track master link to connect and assemble the track chain. The track master link bears the most concentrated load across the whole track chain. During machine travel, it sustains heavy impact, alternating tension and shear force, together with abrasive grit wear and mud-water corrosion. Therefore, split link bolts require much higher fatigue and shear resistance than regular track bolts.
Our aftermarket Caterpillar split link bolts are manufactured to match CAT OEM part numbers. Shank diameter, thread profile, head geometry and mounting dimension are fully compatible for direct replacement.Except Standard hex head split link bolt, we also supply Reinforced thick head split link bolt and Short shank split link bolt. Installation Tips:
1. Thoroughly clean dirt, rust and burrs from master link plate contact surfaces and bolt holes before installation for flat contact.
2. Split link bolt and nut strength class must be perfectly matched. Mixing different grades is forbidden.
3. Tighten step by step to torque values specified in CAT service manual. Insufficient torque causes master link loosening; over-torque leads to bolt stretch and fracture.
4. Regular inspection and torque recheck for machines working under heavy mining conditions.
5. When disassembling track chain or replacing master link, replace split link bolt & nut set together. Split link bolts bear extreme alternating load. Used bolts suffer metal fatigue and may break easily if reused, leading to severe track de-rangement failure.
